Retriever Training Day 2026

Cambridgeshire Field Trial Society were very pleased to be able to offer a novice and open retriever training day on 6th June at lovely ground on an estate 3 miles south of Cambridge.

We had two very experienced trainers, Jo Rollinson and Sharon Dingle, who lead a novice and open group of handlers and their dogs.

The morning will consisted of training exercises, focusing on foundations in the novice group, and trial scenarios in the open group. The afternoon saw handlers run through some test scenarios with feedback. 

An award for trainers’ choice was awarded to the handlers who had taken on board the advice given, and improved most through the day. The novice certificate went to Rob Dean and Biff, and the open certificate went to Hazel Cave and Ginny. A very well done to all who attended.

The society hopes to hold more events like this in the future, so watch this space!
